continuing my time wasting modifications, I need ideas for what headlights to put on this civic

I was thinking r34, but not exactly modern

perhaps something from the BMW or euro world?

I'm a huge fan of the pre-facelift E46 xenon headlights. You should be able to get a kit from TheRetrofitSource to do your own xenon HID lights.

I do quite enjoy the straight top and the way the bottom follows the round curves.

I like the 2000-2004 Legacy GT and Outback headlights. They were also found on the 2003-2006 Baja.
